About the artist

After studying at the Beaux Arts in Marseille and Lyon, I attended the Claireau and Marguerite Alar workshops and various painters' workshops...
35 years ago, I discovered the Alpilles region and set up the "Aqualeria" gallery in Eygalières. It's a place for sharing and meeting people, with the aim of promoting painting in Provence.
I now work on my paintings in my artist's studio "Cicada" in the heart of Saint-Remy-de-Provence.

Provence, a source of inspiration

The Provence of painters, the painters of Provence. Two magical formulas that call to each other to such an extent that we don't know which one to prefer.
And what if Provence owed part of its identity to the painters who, born on its soil or who came to stay, revealed to the world the splendours of a land of wind, sun, sea and mountains. A land of so many contrasts that their depictions of it appear divergent, even contradictory.
I must express my admiration for the Fauvists, who rejected the perspectives and vision of classical art in order to exalt colour. Camoin, Derain, Manguin, Matisse, Van Dongen, Braque, etc...

Between colour and light

It's in the Alpilles, where I live, that I find my main source of inspiration, and in my garden.
Varied, unusual, decorated with colours and changing plants that harmonise gently, this is a garden where the presence of scented elements adds even more charm to your walks.
The seasons open with a bang. Green comes in all its shades. The rush of colour sweeps you away.
One morning the air smells sweet, the wind is caressing, the impression is suggested and goes to rest deep inside. It will return one day on a white canvas.
A workshop, a story...
where inspiration is expressed...
